I ♥ FREE iPad Apps

22 Sep
Alright, so I’ve finally got myself an iPad,  and I don’t really want to buy apps for now. This is a norm for me. When I first got my iPhone3G, it took me a while to start getting the hang of buying apps. Ok, I am lying. I just couldn’t bare to part with my moolah on little icons that sit on my mobile phone and my first purchase was SIMS3! Ok that’s old story so let’s get back and focus on my new toy – iPad.

To ensure ROI, not counting hours on Farm Story & City Story on my iPad, there are tons of other free iPad apps that I have downloaded and explored. Have I mentioned I ❤ FREE stuff??? Hehe…

So here goes the list of free/lite apps downloadable from iTunes Store Singapore:
  1. Adobe Ideas 1.0 is your digital sketchbook which offers simple vector-based drawing tools, letting you capture and explore ideas anywhere you go. Adobe Ideas is an ideal companion for the professional design applications from Adobe, including Adobe Illustrator® and Adobe Photoshop® software. You can trace over photos and email drawings as PDFs too! Neat.
  2. Dropbox is the easiest way to sync and share your files online and across computers. Remember to sign-up for an account!
  3. Evernote turns your iPad into an extension of your brain, helping you remember anything and everything that happens in your life. From notes to ideas to snapshots to recordings, put it all into Evernote and watch as it instantly synchronizes from your iPhone to your Mac or Windows desktop.
  4. IM+ Lite is the first free multiprotocol instant messaging client with iOS 4 multitasking support! IM+ will keep you connected to GTalk, Yahoo, MSN/Live Messenger, AIM/iChat, ICQ, MySpace, Jabber, Facebook chat and Twitter.
  5. PaperDesk LITE is a simple, easy-to-use notebook replacement made specifically for the iPad. The entire design goal behind PaperDesk was to mimic, as closely as possible, a simple pad of paper with no unnecessary frills. Yet it still boasts features that enable quick and responsive note taking. Pages can be emailed as PDF, bookmark pages to navigate easily and record audio while taking notes! But LITE version restricts you to three pages per notebook!
  6. PCalc Lite is a fully functional and free taste of our popular scientific calculator. It includes an optional RPN mode, multiple undo and redo, unit conversions and constants, as well as two stylish themes and our highly praised design. The absence of the regular built-in calculator app doesn’t bother me now 😉
  7. Granimator is a creative wallpaper app. A free-form, immersive touch and sound experience that allows you to create designer wallpapers for your iPad from an extensive range of artist packs. Once your masterpiece is created, save the wallpaper or forward to friends through Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, and online gallery space Granimator.com.
  8. VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework, that plays most multimedias files and various streaming protocols. It is simple to use, yet very powerful and extendable. VLC has all codecs built-in. It comes with support for nearly all codec there is. And what is more it can even play back the file or media if it is damaged! Missing or broken pieces are no stop to VLC, it plays all the video and audio information that’s still intact.

A colleague also introduced to me Secrets for iPad Lite – the Lite Guide to Secrets for iPad.

  • Whether your an intense or casual user, Secrets for iPad will lead the way to a better, more exciting and useful iPad experience!

There is way more to explore so look out for updates!
